Bomb threat reported at Newington cannabis dispensary – Hartford Courant
A bomb threat was reported at a cannabis dispensary in Newington on Monday, police said.
The Newington Police Department said the threat was made at about 4:48 p.m. through the Fine Fettle Dispensary online ordering system. The building, located at 2230 Berlin Turnpike, and surrounding businesses were evacuated until the Hartford Bomb Squad could search the premises.
The area was deemed safe following the search, and the affected businesses were cleared to resume their normal operations, Newington Sgt. Ryan Deane said in a statement.
“The threat is believed to be specific to only the Fine Fettle Dispensary location in Newington,” Deane said.
Fine Fettle has cannabis dispensaries in six locations throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts. Deane said police will have an increased presence at the Newington location out of an abundance of caution.
Newington police are still investigating the threat and asking anyone with information to contact them at 860-666-8445.
