A 50-year-old Pennsylvania man is in custody after a traffic stop Wednesday in Dover yielded drugs, state police said.

James E. Kimmel of Minersville, Pennsylvania, was observed by troopers in the area of Webbs Lane and South Governors Avenue driving without a headlight, according to a news release issued by Delaware State Police.

Troopers conducted a traffic stop, and smelled alcohol and marijuana coming from the Toyota 4Runner, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.

A DUI investigation ensued and Kimmel was taken into police custody. Troopers searched the Toyota and located 21.47 grams of marijuana and 8.01 grams of crystal methamphetamine, Fournier said.

Kimmel is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance (crystal meth), possession of marijuana, possession go a drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of drugs and failure to have two headlamps.

Kimmel was committed to Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna after failing to post $5,151 cash bail.
