n May 2015: Pennsylvania Senate approved a bill to legalize medical marijuana in Pennsylvania. The bill passed 40-7 and moved onto the House for consideration.
n March 2016: Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed the medical marijuana bill, 149-43. The measure was sent back to Senate for concurrence.
n April 2016: Gov. Tom Wolf signed the legislation, making medical marijuana legal in Pennsylvania.
n January: The state Department of Health makes available applications for medical marijuana growers/processors and dispensaries, with a March deadline.
n June 20: The state Department of Health grants 12 growers/processors permits in six districts across the state. The two in the northeast region are Pennsylvania Medical Solutions LLC in Scranton and Standard Farms LLC in White Haven.
